Chemical Machining

What is Chemical Machining used for?

Chemical machining is used to remove specified amounts of metal using a variety of chemical solutions and is used, for example, to remove the alpha case layer of forged titanium products.

WR Metal Finishing has also considerable experience in the removal of mild steel, stainless steel, and other exotic material canisters. These canisters surround complicated shapes formed during HIP processing, a method of casting manufacture becoming increasingly important in the production of aerospace and automotive parts.

Additionally, WR Metal Finishing support the chemical machining of forming tools used typically in the production of complex parts with difficult to access geometries.
