Chemical Etching

Chemical etching of metal is a key process at William Rowland Metal Finishing with a large line dedicated to this service.

What is Chemical Etching?

Chemical Etching is a process where baths chemicals designed to remove the surface layer are being used to reveal underlying metal structures. This process enables careful inspection of the integrity of the part through both visual and dye pen inspection (DPI).

Under its Rolls-Royce and NADCAP approvals, William Rowland Metal Finishing provides this macro etching service to customers involved in the aerospace supply chain and other high integrity sectors. Our etching line regularly processes rings, shafts, and disc forgings in both titanium and nickel alloys and is able to handle a large range of parts destined for critical applications.
